First, the good news! I swore I would never buy a puppy from a pet store and we frequent pet stores quite a bit when in malls. Anyway, my fiance and I wound up buying the cutest puppy I have ever seen in the Chandler store. It is a new hybrid breed of Pug and Dachshund called a "Daug". The pet was well mannered and well treated by the staff and I saw no different in all the pets in there. The staff (Joanne, store manager) was very helpful and explained everything to a fine detail. We have him home now and couldn't be happier.
The only reason not a "5" star.....on the puppies' initial vet visit (yes, came with great records and got to see the vet that saw him prior to being up for sale), he was diagnosed with a common parasite via a stool sample. According to the vet, this is common in puppies and I don't understand why a fecal sample isn't tested prior to them going into the pet store for sale.
Laslty, There are some folks out there that are absolute haters to pet stores in malls, and while I can agree with their comments to some extent, they always seem more general and not specific. Bottom line folks, do your research and be informed BEFORE you buy and you will be much happier!
