A good friend of mine recommended this pediatrician who she had seen for years. She goes to their Gilbert location but I live in Chandler so I tried the Chandler location instead. My first impression of the office was not a good one. It looks run down and the waiting area is very small which is unfortunate when you have a sick and well section for kids. The small wall partition they do have would not stop germs from jumping on a kid in good health. I have no complaints about any of the doctors themselves. At each appointment and during their hospital visits when my baby was born everything was fine. However, whoever answers the phone at Chandler can be quite abrasive to a first time mom's questions. When I was worried about my newborn's weight gain I called the office and asked if I could stop by to simply use their scale for 2 minutes to make sure she is gaining weight appropriately. The lady who answered the phone said there was no way I could use the scale without paying a copay and visiting with a physician. Since I know other practices let you use their scale at any time without an appointment I really pushed this and asked to speak to the office manager. Only then did they say it was okay if I came into use the scale. More recently I've requested to hold my baby during her first round of vaccinations and they refused to let me hold her. They said it was because no one was comfortable with me holding her during shots. However at the Gilbert location a nurse named Stephanie was happy to let me hold my baby during her shots and the experience was a whole lot less stressful because of it. Gilbert location is awesome so go there if you want to use healing hearts pediatrics.
