There really should be two separate reviews for this place. One would obviously be for the haunted house itself, and the other would be for the whole experience of being there.
First we'll start out with the haunted house itself. It was amazing! Seriously probably one of the best haunted houses I've ever been to it. It lasts around 45 minutes in total. You can really tell how much work was put into this place.
Every room you walk into is really well thought out. They blow smoke in your face, tilt room, shine lights in your face, as well as put you in pitch blackness. Everything is to disorient you. That is what is need in a haunted house..they really need to be able to distract you and then jump up and get you.
It was very impressive how intricate the whole experience was. You go from theme to theme here when you enter and exit sections of the buildings. There's like a old timey London area with a zombie outbreak..and even a extra terrestrial portion of it. It's all very impressive.
So yeah..the haunted house portion: 5 stars..10 stars! Just the best ever.
Now onto the whole experience. We got there around 9 o'clock on a Saturday night..probably their busiest time of the night..on their busiest night of the week..if not the entire season. We did not step foot into the haunted house until a little after MIDNIGHT! Yes..that's right..we stood in line for 3 hours. 3 hours! I honestly don't think I have ever stood in line for ANYTHING for 3 hours.
It was absolutely maddening. The line wrapped around one thing and then another..and then would go off to the side..and then come back. It was insane!
They had costumes characters walk through the lines and interact with people to try to help entertain..but that lost its charm about an hour in. By the time we reached the front of the line we honestly didn't really have much desire to even go in anymore. The line had completely defeated us..if the house hadn't been the best one we had ever been in it would've been devastating.
So yeah..the experience..1 star..0 stars..negative stars. As good as the place was..and it was superior..I would still say it wasn't worth waiting in that line. We definitely would not do it again. Not saying we'd never come here again..they do offer VIP passes that have you skipping some if not all of the line (which I could not highly recommend enough)..or maybe just come on a different less busy night.
Overall..haunted house: 10 stars; experience: -1 star; average: 4 stars!
