| - I booked a spa day which included use of the amenities, a massage, followed by a firming facial, then fancy wedding makeup and fancy up do for my wedding. OMG. I phoned multiple times to coordinate everything I was having done, and to ensure I knew how much it was going to be including the gratuity they add on. Once I had everything sat my girlfriend said she was flying in for the wedding and wanted to have a spa day with me. So I phoned back and went through it all again for a second person. Then I wanted to have our massages together, so I phoned back yet again to get the couples massage room and coordinate so we would have everything together. Those people that answer the phone and coordinate the services are great! They understood I was watching my pennies, even though I wanted a full blown spa day before our wedding at the Golden Nugget later that afternoon. I can't imagine if every person had to phone back and change what they wanted as many times as I did, how that would be. They were so patient with me and answered all my questions.
Then comes the day! OMG it was the best spa day I could have ever imagined, let alone had. It started with a 50 minute relaxing massage. We had the best night downtown the night before, and had only come back a few hours before our services started, so let me say this relaxing massage was great. Mauro worked out kinks I didn't even know I had. He can really give a girl a nice massage. What a cutie to boot! Great time had by both of us, but my massage guy Mauro really made me fill calm, cool and collected a few hours before my wedding, not to mention I was without knots after seeing him. Couples massage for two girls, by two guys is highly recommended! They are great at the GN!
Next was the firming facial. Marianne did mine. She took me into a private room where we could dish about whatever and whatnot. It was calming and relaxing even more than the massage. I have had several facials, and this one was the first time anyone took the time to clean the pores and actually give my face the attention I was paying for. I've had many facials where they don't take near the time to actually tend to your face. This was not one of those. This was one of those facials where the pores are exfoliated, lotions are rubbed, never was I just sitting there waiting for something to dry on my face or sit on my face. She's amazing and I sure was glowing when she finished! Then she did my wedding makeup and I really felt like a bride. She did it very modest. I don't wear much makeup normally, so to have any was not hard, but not my normal. She made me feel pretty without making me feel like I had too much on. That was exciting just knowing I could sit back and trust the process. Highly recommend Marianne if for nothing else but the facial. This girl knows her stuff!
Next was the hair. I was already colored, so all I needed was an up do partially. Marianne washed me before my makeup, so when we were done with makeup then Kathy did my up do. Let me say it was perfection. I couldn't have imagined it going any easier. I just sat there and her magic was performed. She is an amazing hairdresser, and I can see people getting cuts or colors or anything done by her. Just having her touch my hair was like the finishing touches on my Cinderella day.
I loved the Spa. Did I mention we were up late the night before? I didn't get to use the amenities until the next day. I came back and used the spa, the dry sauna, the wet sauna, and the showers. That was the bomb! It's so worth the $15 to use these facilities. Next time I will hit the spa every single day I'm in town. I've stayed at the GN numerous times and this was the first time I ventured in here. Let me say this staff, these people that work here, they are the best of the best. Please give them a try! You won't be sorry you did.
