I booked a last minute hair appointment at Good Day 2 months back, as I had seen photos of incredible cuts and colours all over my instagram feed, and was eager to get in on the magic. Many influential and unique creative types I admire of toronto (graphic designers, artists, influencers) frequent the shop for their hair and this just tells me how unique the service would be.
Booking online was a breeze, and told me an estimate of my total price immediately so I would not be surprised. I appreciated a staff member calling me to go over what I had booked; the human voice after computerized booking helped a lot!
The shop looks so sick and isn't trying to be anything they aren't with the decor.
Jewelz greeted me and I instantly knew we'd get on just fine. She was funky and honest and kind to me the entire process. I went for a blunt bob and tons of balayage and lightening up my natural colour. I think it's important to note that I'm usually okay with hairdressers and colourists doing their thing on my hair as I'm hair adventurous anyways. I'm never incredibly specific or attached to an idea for my look, so I think this freedom is important in finding a professional who also loves the freedom to do their work.
Jewelz was so incredibly precise with my cut, I was blown away. I've had good cuts in the city but never did anyone take such time to make sure my hair was razored absolutely straight across the bottom. That was a huge positive. The colour turned out bright and gorgeous and I constantly get compliments on my colour! Also, the products used smell like creamsicles... sooo yummy.
The price literally shocked me, IN A GOOD WAY. I've paid 3 times more for hair that was good and looked cool but when truly inspected found pieces longer or uneven colouring nearing my part.
Can't wait for my next visit!
