| - I've been wanting to go to Lotus of Siam for years, but never had the chance to during my past Vegas trips. This time, I made sure to set aside time to go here for dinner on the first night of the trip. Reservations are almost impossible to get, so I took the advice from several reviews, and showed up at 5pm on a Thursday, which is when they open for dinner. The restaurant was almost completely empty when we got there, but quickly filled up in the next hour.
The famous garlic prawns are worth the hype! They are fried to perfection, and the flavor is so good that they are almost addicting to eat. Another dish I was super excited to try was the crispy duck khao soi, which comes with crispy noodles in a curry sauce. Honestly, I was not a huge fan. The flavor was very diluted and lacked taste. The egg noodles quickly turned soggy and the duck was just okay.
Overall, decent but overpriced for Thai food; expect to spend ~$100 for dinner for 2. Personally, I would rather go to a Vegas buffet (Bacchanal, anyone?). But if you do find yourself here, make sure the order the garlic prawns!
