I have had the Bose Soundtouch Portable (853) and let me tell you my troubles. It won't stay connected to my wifi. I'll bet I have to set it up as a new device 1-5 times a month. IF the reset even takes, which sometimes it does not. The software is junk, the hardware...well, I returned the first one--dead in box. The second one just stopped working and I had to send it back. They fixed it but that all took time, and with the one year only warranty, I'm expecting it to break again soon. Sounds great when its working. I'd say this device and this (iPad) software is not ready for casual, carefree enjoyment. Its more like an errant child that requires daily attention.
