  • I am pretty loyal to my Trader Joe's, buying most of my groceries there. For the 30% of things that aren't at Trader Joe's, I get about half of them from Fresh & Easy. The good? The prices! Fresh & Easy offers great prices on so many items. Combine that with the coupons you frequently get in the paper or online for $5 off $25, $6 off $30 or $10 off $50 and you can save a lot of bucks. Around the holidays they even had a $12 off $50, which I readily used. The newly introduced Friends card also saves me a LOT of money. It is a little user-demanding because you can't get the bonus points unless you select them on the website BEFORE your shopping trip. You essentially pick a total of 6 coupons for bonus points, 3 from each of two lists of specials on their website. Then on those purchases, you receive a set amount of points (either a # x the price or something like 500 extra points per/ea). Sounds complicated, but it is really easy... as long as you have the time to plan out your shopping list. Use the points for DOLLARS OFF your next shopping order when you have amassed 500 points or more. They have many vegetables in 99 cent packs. They also have a bargain cooler that is often filled with 50% off (or more) items like steaks you need to cook that night or salads with today's sell by date. Fresh & Easy = Value. And the best part about Fresh & Easy is that they are true to their name! The not so good? Of course, like Trader Joe's, they don't have EVERYTHING on your list. You won't find all the brands you're looking for. But they might have items you can't find anywhere else. If you're British... they have an excellent selection of favorites like Bisto gravy (a must) or Heinz canned beans (in tomato sauce, natch). They even have British-style bacon (which is not like our American bacon, from what my friends who are pork-eaters tell me). You will recognize that Fresh & Easy is owned by the Tesco corporation, for sure. Oh, and they have one of the best selections of canned vegetables and legumes with No Salt Added. That is a MUST in my cooking, so I often load up with a dozen or more cans every trip. No Salt Added is often hard to find at other stores. In conclusion, I like 'em. Try 'em out. You might just like 'em, too. ;)
