  • Mendocino has changed their focus from years ago when they carried some higher end brands. Their style has always been on trend, a little sexier, and more youthful. That is still the case today but the fit and nice tailoring of past Mendocino is gone. Replacing all that is the feminine versions of the latest Instagram trends at some lower price points. I have to admit the service here seemed genuinely nice and attentive. I walked in and the manager (or at least a person in charge) was smiling and saying hello. She quickly made some friendly small talk about my handbag before mentioning the extra sales. It was a nice extra touch where mall shopping can be a frustrating experience. The store isnt too big but there's a lot of items to browse. It's not overly crowded so you can easily spy an outfit you might like. I find the store grouped into their collections so if you're looking for the femme fatale in hipster mode (aka. Levis with flowy bold prints and crop tops... wut?), then you can head to one section. Other sections seem to be nautical in style and another one is your popular instagram pretty of soft pinks and lace. Prices here are constantly dropping so I wouldnt recommend to pay full price if you can wait. Their sales are pretty ridiculous where it's normal to see 50% off the 50% sale to start. Ok, it's a really unusual shade of orange but its a cold shoulder trendy top for only $12. As for fit and sizing, this is where I bow out and let other people have their fun. It's made for tall people and your average Canadian. There's no size 0 or XS ... I dont even remember seeing XL? Either way, most sizes are S, M, and L. That's it. Sometimes I can try to wear a size small but I need a good pair of scissors to make it work. Overall, I look at this store as disposable clothing... it's on trend, it's not expensive, and you can easily donate it after a season. Don't expect good quality or to survive the wash but at least for the patio season, you'll look cute with some good accessories.
