We have visited Amazing Jakes at least twice a year ever since the place opened. Last week, April 9, 2018, my daughter & I decided to check out the new Jakes Unlimited and see what they had to offer for birthday parties. We sat down with a birthday coordinator and she went over prices with us. We told her we had 12 in our party but we did not need a party room or a hostess because we were doing presents, cake & icecream on a different day. She suggested we go on Groupon and purchase the birthday package there because it would drop the price to $250 TOTAL. I followed her advice and purchased the $250 package. Yesterday I called Jakes Unlimited and spoke with a gentleman. I informed him I had purchased the birthday party package on Groupon and I wanted to know if I could redeem the voucher the following day. I also informed him I did not need a party room or a hostess. He replied since I didn't need the hostess or a party room I did not need a reservation, so I could use the voucher any time. Today I walked into Jakes Unlimited and a different party coordinator is there. Her name was Jeri. She takes my voucher and then charges me $50 more on top of the $250 I had already paid. She rudely stated said she had to charge me for a party room & a hostess, regardless if I needed one or not because that was their policy. Then she proceeds to hand me the 12 wrist bands for the kids. I noticed two of wrist bands were a different color. I ask her why two of the wrist bands were a different color. She explained that in the birthday package 2 of the wrist bands are considered "adult wrist bands" and they don't come with the same benefits as the other wrist bands in the package ...but that I could pay $54 MORE so that they would have the same benefits as the other wrist bands. So now the cost of the party which was quoted to me as being $250 ...is now $354. What a ripoff. How dishonest. The old Amazing Jakes never did this to their customers. This place is under new management now. If they continue treating their customers like this they won't be in business long. No wonder the place was empty. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK.
