After a long day of wine gambling and Vegas walking it was time for some red meat. Made the cardinal sin of not checking Yelp before dining. This time it would have sent me elsewhere. Couple of caveats before we get into the food. First, restaurant is wonderful. Tables not on top of each other, beautiful white linens and a "big meat" size steak knife to boot! Really a comfortable atmosphere. ...Second Service perfect say no more. But...and this is a big issue if you are serving high end steaks, they were not very flavorful and a bit tough. I order the "cheffy" medium rare and while perfect color...not very good. This was supposed to be a NY Strip aged and I am thinking it was aged since this morning...... Sides were good but not the official steakhouse "you could never finish this" size but tasty. The sides could not save the meal however. My wife orders her steak medium well so I usually discount any feedback from her on steak but she complained to the waiter about how tough her's was. Waiter apologized, offered desert but she declined I ordered a shot of Bailey's with my coffee and they certainly charged for that, but i digress. Food actually two stars .....ambiance raises it up a star, but with dozens of great steak houses to choose from on the strip...I would pass by Gallagher's.
