| - This is, by far, the WORST customer service experience I have ever had. While the moving itself was not the pinnacle of professionalism, the customer service of the owner is deplorable.
After the move, I called to discuss some charges on our invoice. I called 2 times and received a message stating that the mailbox was full. Super professional. The next day, I left a voicemail that went unreturned. Finally, I was able to get through and then placed on hold for almost 5-minutes. After realizing I was not going to get answered, I hung up and called back. I spoke to someone who described themselves as an owner. She was the consummate unprofessional. Not only did she speak like an angst ridden teenager, she could not locate our paperwork, which I attribute to her mispronouncing our last name 5 times. 5! When explaining our grievances with the invoice, she called my husband a liar; stating plainly, "No, your husband knew that. Unless he is dumb." Consequently, I became frustrated to a whole other level.
I explained that one of her employees smoked during the move. As we had been in the house for a week, I could now smell it in certain pieces of furniture. I have a small daughter and no one in our house smokes, therefore, we should not have to live with this putrid odor. She was very brusk when she said, "You know, there is this stuff called Febreeze you can get. It is only $4." I was appalled.
Given her lack of professionalism, I doubted there was going to be a resolution to the issue. When I explained that I felt that Febreeze was not the optimal solution, she came completely unglued. She unleashed a litany of expletives on me the likes of which I have never heard. She called me a "cold" and "uppity" expletive. She said I was a "stupid" expletive and warned me that I "better not never call her again." She then went back to the expletive tirade and then hung up on me. Stunned, I didn't know what to do. So, I called back to obtain her Better Business Bureau ID number. She recognized my voice and said "expletive you, expletive."
This whole transaction was the epitome of unprofessionalism. From the tardiness of the movers, to the smoking, to the deplorable customer service. PLEASE do not purchase this Groupon. If you need movers, spend the extra money for a reputable, credible, professional company. And save your self the customer service nightmare that is Valleywide Moving.
