1) This is a walk-in only clinic. No appointments are ever accepted.
Sometimes there are waits of many hours, sometimes less. It is never
in and out.
2) This is primarily a Medicaid business. Few other dentists accept Medicaid
so Medicaid users come here. If you have private insurance you will probably be
happier elsewhere.
3) The clientele is 99% African-American, all of the artwork on all
the walls is all Afr-Am pride themed. The music during the teeth cleaning is old school R & B. The staff is all Afr-Am and Afr-Caribbean, except for
the dentist. There are Afr-Am dentists in this area but not here.
4) I asked what days are best for less wait time and they said they
never know, because it is a walk-in only.
They ask that you arrive by 1:30 pm.
5) First you wait in the main waiting room. Then you get x-rays, then you get your teeth cleaned by a hygienist, then you wait in the 2nd waiting room until the dentist looks at your x-rays and then you are taken into another exam room to talk with the dentist. It is a long process. There is 1 tv in each of the 2 waiting rooms, always set on channel 5. Many people pass the time talking on cellphones or sleeping.
6)There is ample free parking and it's on the 32 bus line. It's a nice business district and nice neighborhood.
