Huntington Beach was the only public beach owned by the Metroparks before they took over Edgewater and Wendy Island. It has always been my favorite beach to go to in the Cleveland area. You would never find things in the sand like used syringes, used condoms or feminine hygiene products there. They would rake the sand every morning with heavy machinery and make it so nice. This is a very long beach and during the low tides, it is fairly wide. The lone tree hanging out on the beach is one of my favorite sights here. There are several stone piers that you can walk out on and relax in the sun. They have trained lifeguards there, an ice cream shack, changing rooms, public showers (These are Chas M's favorite sight when he is there), and across the street in the overflow parking lot is more beautiful Metroparks, a Playhouse, a sweet little Italian Bistro, a coffee shop (Mojo's) and stop in at Bay Arts and check things out. Plenty to do in the are and make a day of it.
