| - Disappointingly, a friend was asked to leave the bar. He wasn't doing anything - including, unfortunately, buying alcohol - because he was the designated driver for a group that was out to party that night. He'd bought a soft drink, but was told if he wasn't buying alcohol, he had to leave. The bartender initiated this, and the bouncer backed him up on it. A poor decision - socially irresponsible, rude, and entirely disrespectful of the community. I'll plan to avoid the bar from here out. There are plenty of other places to go to - within a 2-minute walk - that won't discriminate someone who can't or won't drink (perhaps because they're designated drivers, for health reasons, or for many other legitimate reason) alcohol, but want to continue socializing with their friends who do.
