  • I am and always have been so INCREDIBLY impressed with Dr. White & his team! My parents, my five siblings, and friends all go here now. Let's face it, unless you have some weird issue, nobody really likes going to the dentist. However, this office is not at all like any of the other practices. I've tried other local offices, some in Charlotte, and even some in Chapel Hill when I was a student (after one try, I just made sure I made my appointments for when I'd be "back home" so I could come back to Dr. White!). So, I'll start with the office - which includes the people, the atmosphere and the overall experience. They are located in a small (medical?) business park off 21 just before you get to Target/Kohls (on your left) or McD's (on your right coming from Cornelius). If you're coming from Huntersville or Charlotte, take exit 25, turn right, take a left through Target so you're on 21 heading North (towards Cornelius, so Target will be on your right), and they'll pop up in ~1/4 mile on the right. Their building is in the far back - can't miss it. It's a very nice and well maintained building. You walk into their welcoming reception area and you're always greeted with a smile. As for the wait time - WHAT WAIT TIME!? Everyone who works here from the front desk, to the phones, to the assistants, to the hygienists, to the dentists... they are all incredible! I go every six months for my regular cleaning and have Peggy do my teeth (under Dr. White). Oh, how I love Peggy! She is so warm, sweet, gentle and just the nicest lady. I have very sensitive teeth and receding gums, she always cleans with the most care to avoid any discomfort. She really makes every visit pleasant. My husband, who like many men didn't go regularly to the dentist, now goes here and sees Peggy too. He loves her too - so much so, he comes every six months. Peggy's the only one who makes these appointments bearable and NOT painful! Dr. White is the Dentist I choose to see, same for my husband. He is a local dentist, educated at Chapel Hill (go heels!), and raises his kids in the area. He is bright, engaging, warm and caring. I cannot say most Doctors I have encountered are very warm and approachable - Dr. White is definitely an exception. He is very friendly, knows his stuff, and he clearly cares! When I have a cavity or something that needs attended to, Dr. White and Angela always take great care of me. Angela is also fantastic! Very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Surely, I'm not unlike every other person I'm sure they see... so I get anxious! I don't like the drills, the shots, etc... but who does!?!? They are very calming and always make sure I'm fully numb before they do anything. I had to have two veneers put on two teeth that were mis-sized/tiny compared to the rest of my teeth. Dr. White was the guy to fix this. I just got my temporaries on and while I'm still not sure how I feel about them (after all, it changes your appearance...), he called a few hours after I got home to check on me to see how I was feeling, and to see if I was happy. How many other Dentists would do this, and who else would call personally? None, just Dr. White. While I think we're still refining my veneers (while undergoing orthodontic treatment/Invisalign), I will always come back to Dr. White. He cares, he does not seem to be willing to accept anything less than perfection, and he makes the patients comfortable. A side note about billing - they DO accept and file with your insurance. However, I believe due to the new laws, you have to pay for much/most of your treatments before you leave - which seems fair. The insurance company will process everything (thankfully, they do the filing here for you) and your insurance company will send you a reimbursement check. Also, the way the insurance companies send the checks now is VERY sneaky - it's usually on a back page, printed and it looks like a copy of a check or a fake check. It would be VERY easy to miss - so read it carefully. Dr. White's staff keyed me into this when I didn't think I was getting the insurance checks about a year ago. Thanks to their tip, I found the checks! I trust the people who work here and what they explain to me, and I just check the mail for that check - though it takes a while. Everyone's really great here and I'm very impressed with Dr. White's compassion, attention to detail, his willingness to revisit work if it's not just the way I want it, and his complete understanding when I'm either anxious, nervous or second-guessing something. Very professional!
