I stopped here with a group of 6 last Saturday. I had read a raving review of the place in Sunset Magazine so my expectations were maybe a bit altered by what I had read. As promised, the venue offers a funky, dark atmosphere to imbibe some hand crafted cocktails. They had decent DJ music which everyone liked and was at a volume that allowed for conversation. I didn't expect how dark the place was going to be. It was so dark in there we had to wait about 10 minutes for our eyes to adjust so that we could read the menu. The menu has several options, offering a rating system of for some of their cocktails. At first, I thought it was rating the potency of the cocktail, but after asking our server, she explained it rates the complexity of the drink. I had the Apple Bobbin, which I found light and refreshing. The reason this place only gets 2 stars is because of the bathroom. The dark theme continues into the (very poorly ventilated) bathroom. It was pitch black in one of the stalls. There was absolutely NO light. I was too scared to use it so I waited until the other stall opened up. Once in the stall, you see that you are behind double sided mirror, allowing you to see everyone in the washroom while they are unable to see you. This bathroom just felt like horror movie waiting to happen. What an awkward experience. We had one drink and left, if we stayed longer we might have fallen asleep!
