| - Not nearly worth the $42+ I spent on dinner, for just myself, on a Tuesday. When using my card, the machine asked to tip before I even entered the buffet. Granted, there was a $0 option, but asking about a tip before you are even seated is really poor form. Especially for an establishment like Bellagio. After being seated, I wondered what I was tipping for exactly. I had a 1 minute interaction with the cashier, a 30 second interaction with the hostess and rarely saw my busser. I call him a busser instead of a server because he didn't serve me anything. Even the drinks are from self serve machines. I say again, what am I tipping for? If I am tipping up front, how is that money divided if they don't even know where I'll be seated? For the little interaction I had with the staff, they were nice and polite.
Now about the food. I felt the quality of the ingredients were good, but the flavor was just, meh. Kung Pao Chicken was ok, but didn't really taste like Chinese food. I honestly like the flavor of Panda Express better. This one tasted kind of bland. Pasta was better than the Chinese food, but still just ok. The carving station food was pretty good and the pizza was good for buffet pizza. They had a caviar station, but the mini waffle they put it on was so dry, it completely took all of the moisture out of my mouth. The sushi was flavorless. The fish seemed fresh, but the rice had the consistency of half hardened clay and had no flavor. I couldn't taste any rice wine vinegar. The word "sushi" is the seasoned rice, so if the rice isn't flavored, you've got it all wrong. The tuna and salmon poke were good, but needed more flavor.
Don't bother with this buffet. Overrated is an understatement for this place. Better to eat at a place that actually serves you, tastes better and casts less. If you really want to spend a bunch for a buffet, go to the Wynn Buffet. It's a couple of bucks cheaper and the food is WAY better.
I haven't been to the Bellagio buffet in like 10 years so since I felt it was overrated back then. Gave it another try, thinking it might have improved, but it actually got worse. I don't think I ever need to come back. There is much better food to be had in Vegas in the same price range, and cheaper.
