  • I purchased a Subaru Impreza WRX there. Long story short, my car was a lemon, and I was getting a replacement. On the new replacement vehicle, I specifically said that I do not want the additional dealer add-ons. I originally had a $2500 warranty package and $1500 worth of "Dealer Add-ons" (which included their Brake Safe System, and Alarm Package). First of all, I did not get the brake safe system ever installed on the first car. I had to come back multiple times, once to get my owners manual that I never got, and another time to try to get the brake safe system installed, but was not done. The service department was pretty bad. I was working with them to troubleshoot an alignment issue on my vehicle. The service technician Robert, was in the passenger seat, and I was showing him that my car pulls to the right a lot. I proved to him and showed him what was happening. He then said that "Your car is pulling to the right because I'm in the passenger seat. You have a 250lbs person in the passenger seat, it will cause the car to the right". That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I was working with Peoria Subaru to get my car replaced with Subaru of America. The sales manager and the finance manager at Peoria Subaru are total liars. Lie #1: I was working with Evan in their finance office. Evan lied to me to my face. He tried to sell me the "Security" system that they install on the cars. He said that this package includes the vehicle immobilizer system that is not standard on a 2013 Impreza WRX. The immobilizer system is standard on all Subaru vehicles from 2009-Present. Lie #2: Evan also tried to tell me that I had some Vehicle "Etch" on my last car, which I did not. I signed some different paperwork showing the new add-ons on the vehicle. I told Evan that I did not sign that one the last time, and he said yes you did, you had to. Lie #3: I was working with Subaru of America to replace the car, and they told me that I had to get these additional warranty and add-ons, like my last vehicle I purchased. Wrong. I called the representative that I was working with through Subaru of America (Corporate), and he told me that was not true. I worked with Subaru of America to get my money back. I worked out a deal for 1.84% APR on my original vehicle. On the replacement vehicle, I worked out a deal for 1.79%APR. When I talked to Subaru of America, they told me to go back to the dealer to sign the new paperwork so that I can get my money back for the added warranty and dealer add-ons, the new paperwork said 1.89% APR. The sales manager would not budge on it at all. I was so sick and tired of dealing with them, and it was such a small amount, that I signed the paperwork and left. When Subaru calls me to ask me about my experience, I will tell them about the whole fiasco. Don't ever buy any added warranty from them, they will lie and cheat you. Read this article from Edmunds from a former auto finance manager. (http://www.edmunds.com/car-buying/confessions-of-an-auto-finance-manager.html) For those that don't want to read it all, skip to the 3rd page: (http://www.edmunds.com/car-buying/confessions-of-an-auto-finance-manager-pg3.html) They act like they are trying to help you through your car purchase, when they are not. They are trying to squeeze every last dollar out of you. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR MONEY!!!!!
