| - I went there a while ago and got a pyramid tattoo on my wrist, and it's crooked. Which, whatever, it's a wrist, I understand you can't exactly take a ruler and I knew he'd touch it up if I asked. I originally liked this place a lot because they didn't act like dicks. Hard to come by, and I really appreciate a good vibe from a person that's sottering my arm.
They charged me sixty bucks for a white outline wrist tattoo ($85 with tip. Tip your artist!) and right on. They weren't so much interested in me as my boyfriend, who Jerry did a great cover up for the same night in the range of $500. It's really good work, and we left happy with a lot of cards to pass on to people because they had just opened at the time.
I guess people have bad days or whatever, but the only thing that separated that tattoo shop from the thousands of others out here was that they acted like they gave a fuck about their customer and that they wanted you to be there.
Which was not the case when I walked in a few days ago and asked them to do a specific tattoo. It was clear Jerry didn't remember us, which is expected, I get that, but he copped this total attitude like he might be able to fit us in if we come back later (understandable, we didn't have an appointment - but you don't have to sit back in your chair so matter of factly.)
But what I can say is this - the vibe in that place is totally different from the first time I went in there. I asked him if he would touch up my tattoo and he implied that I must have moved while they were giving me the tattoo to make it crooked. Really, he was like a totally different person than the person I thought I was going to see.
I will not be back.
