| - we tried a mix and found nothing terribly original about the donuts, especially for the price. they tend toward dry, bland and the toppings are sickly-sweet. in fact, the concoctions have been done before elsewhere, and with superlative execution (ie, balanced flavors, rich as opposed to just sugary, not from a mix... yes: peace, love & little donuts uses a mix).
if you want a sweet treat -and- an experience that's in the spirit of the strip, there's enrico biscotti, raymond's, colangelo's, as well as many other shops, stalls and stands. they will not only offer delish, truly artisan treats but they contribute to the community of the east end and pittsburgh.
obviously, many people are aware of the owner's views on people who are not white, hetero, etc., which renders the name of his shop and the tag line entirely silly-cum-ironic. those views are enough to keep me from a business i actually like. this place, however, will be easy to stay away from.
