| - I came in for an oil change, and to get one of my keys reprogrammed. When I arrived, the man behind the desk said that at 4 months/8,000km they also suggest doing a tire rotation. He named off the prices as $25 for the oil change, $25 for the tire rotation, and $105 for the key reprogramming. The oil change was $43.21, plus labour, coming to $61.95. So that's lie #1.
My boyfriend called a few weeks ago to check the price of getting the key done, and the woman told him that it was $20, but they would do it free of charge. I told this to the man I was speaking to, and he said something about the system being down and they had no record of that listed, so he would talk to his manager, who apparently told him they could not do this for free. A promised free service, lie #2.
I did not have $105 to pay for this, and said "I only want the oil change, I'll do the tire rotation and key another time". He repeated back to me "Just the oil change?", and I agreed. He passed me a paper, told me to sign, and being someone who is trusting, I signed and went to wait for my car to be finished. When I was called to pay, I looked over the receipt with shock. As mentioned before, the oil change was $43.21, AND they went ahead did the tire rotation. That was $75 I was not expecting to pay at all! I said "I only asked for an oil change" to which this different man behind the counter pulled out the work order form that I signed, pointed to the services listed, and said "No, you signed for an oil change and tire rotation". The first man I spoke to had lied to me again. Lie #3.
I should have complained and refused to pay right then and there, but I am not a confrontational person, and I was quite astonished by the whole ordeal. I cannot believe the disrespect and blatant lies I was told. I will NEVER be coming back here for any services. I would rather drive back to the dealership (in another city) where I purchased the car, and deal with those people who treat me like a person, and don't try to rip me off or make me feel like an ATM.
