  • I use yelp all the time to review places I want to go to, but I have never felt the need to post, until now. If I had reviewed Dr. Keller on my first visit, I would have given her 4 stars. Yes, she uses foul language, and yes, she can be very forward in her speech. I knew that going in (thanks to Yelp), and I was okay with it. My first visit was quick and to the point. I even texted my daughters a picture of her business card and suggested they see her too. At my first visit I was given a referral for a mammogram since I hit the big 40. Abnormalities showed up on a repeated mammogram so within an hour of my second test Debbie calls me and says Dr. Keller wants me to come in. I make an appointment with Debbie for the next week. For 6 days I stressed over the results. My husband rearranged his work schedule so he could go to the appointment with me. I get there and was told by a new person behind the desk that I was not scheduled for an appointment. Mind you, I am waiting to hear if I have cancer or not.... I explained to him my circumstances and my husbands work situation, but the best he could do was squeeze me in later in the day. Of course that was the time for our children to be picked up from school so now I have to hear the results alone. Kay from the office called soon after I left the office to let me know she spoke with Debbie, basically acknowledging their mistake, but not apologizing. Kay reminded me of my co-pay, and confirmed my appointment for later in the day. I go back and wait nearly an hour after the newly scheduled appointment time in the room. Dr. Keller comes in and gives me my report and tells me about ladies in Africa with large tumors in their breasts and about radiation seeds being better than traditional radiation. I am so shocked, I don't say much. She gives me a name for a doctor she refers to, but I ask for another doctor, and she's fine with that. What I don't understand is the certified letter sent out to me the very next day. "I am writing to discharge you as a patient from my medical practice. We do not like to discharge patients, however your interactions with my staff undermines the patient/provider relationship and makes it very hard to provide your ongoing care." Why? I don't understand? Was it because I didn't choose her referring doctor? Or because the young man behind the desk couldn't handle my emotional plea to be seen on the day I was scheduled? Or was it because I asked him to just give me my reports and referral (which he said he couldn't)? Or maybe it was because my body reacted to the stress I was under and my blood pressure reflected it causing the nurse to have to recheck it two more times? I will say this, I never raised my voice, never threatened anyone, never did anything that would have made it seem like I was a violent person. I am not that kind of person. Everyone I share this situation with cannot believe this has happened to me! I wasn't going to write this yelp, but I feel I needed other people to know. Now that I have been discharged, I wonder if this is something that will follow me to other offices? Ladies, please use discernment when choosing your next gynecologist.
