| - This was only the second "real-life" escape room game that I have been to, but I (and my friends) were quite impressed at the set-up at Escape Games.
As with other "real-life" escape games, this was located in a business park/office building, in an out-of-the-common-way building. However, the directions on the website made it pretty easy to navigate to, even for someone who is fairly unfamiliar with the area.
When you first walk in, there is a large shelf on one side of the room, with a decent selection of board games to play while you wait. The ample tables and couches available are also helpful for said board games, or even just to chat/catch up with friends during the wait. Since we had a reservation for the scenario we wanted to do, there was no wait at all for us when we got there.
We chose the "Diamond Thief" scenario, and the difficulty level was perfect for our group. Obviously, I don't want to give too much away so that it doesn't get ruined for the next escape-room fan, but suffice it to say that the props and the thought that went into designing the rooms and the puzzles did not go unnoticed in our group. Kudos to the designers, and to the staff that were super friendly and didn't point or laugh at us when I'm sure we asked some stupid questions during the intro part.
If you haven't yet been to Escape Games, it's definitely worth the drive from wherever you are in the GTA to spend an hour with friends!
