| - I bought a Groupon for their Dermalogica facial. I was always interested to see the place considering they offer everything from Brazilians to spider vein removal. When I first walked in, the place was clean and cozy. There seemed to be 1 treatment room, another room for maybe office materials (not really sure, I didn't go in) and a bathroom. I liked the place . There was only one girl working. She checked me in and was friendly and welcoming. Later I found out she would be doing my facial as well.
My facial had its pros and cons. The treatment room was dim, comfortable and had soft music playing. When my facial began, it wasn't as soothing as I hoped. I've had multiple facials before and this felt like she was throwing product on my face in an abrasive manner. It was just pure product application minus the pampering, but that really wasn't my biggest complaint. About 10 minutes into my facial, we heard someone walk into the office. She excused herself and had to see who it was. No one else was working this day so she had to multi task, and no, that wasn't my biggest complaint either. My biggest issue was when she did extractions, nothing was placed over my eyes to shield me from the bright light. Every facial I had that included extractions had cotton pads placed over my eyes. Even with your eyes closed, it is blinding. I was about to say something but as the extractions continued her hands casted shadows over my eyes so it was bearable. Still, the cotton pads would have made this facial about 80% better. It felt like forever waiting for my extractions to be over. Maybe because of the light and extractions are never fun. I have to say I think she did a thorough job cleaning my pores out though.
The pros of my facial were the neck and shoulder massage, the length of time the facial was, the venue and the thorough extractions. Other than that I don't think I'd get a facial there again.
