I've got 99 problems and bubble tea is one, honestly.
The Alley is definitely toe to toe against Chatime (Warden & Gibson specifically) in my books with regards to bubble tea. They're two completely different types of bubble tea joints, but each has their own specialty IMO. Whereas Chatime seems to be catered more to a North American crowd, The Alley seems to be moreso for people who really enjoy that real milk tea experience. Flavours are more on the tea side vs sugary for chatime, which is a nice change every now and then.
This specific location I feel is probably the roomiest of the three locations I've been to (haven't been to the Downtown location yet - soon!) and the staff here seems to be doing pretty well with regards to keeping up with the crowds. This location also offers more seating and, despite being in a busier location - with loads of restaurants and other competing bubble tea joints in the area - it never feels too loud. The "tree" inside the cafe is a nice touch too!
Personally I find that the service at the Alley has never been as fast as my home base chatime, but I can't really complain. If you've never tried a drink from any of the Alley joints, definitely try a Royal No.9 or an Iron Goddess - even at a regular sugar level, you won't leave thinking your drink is too sweet!
