| - I'd lived at Vaseo for over 2 years and was pretty happy. A few items that I have to point out to any potential tenants:
-It is a large community, so bear in mind that if you put in a maintenance request, you may not get it fulfilled for awhile. It's hit or miss. Sometimes I'd get service right away, other times I had to demand service after waiting weeks for help
-It is a tight fit. All the buildings are close together and the parking is super limited. I understand that they added ports for electric cars since I left. However, it's not used very much. Then, there are garages that you can get at an extra charge. All I've ever seen in those garages is something worthy of an episode of "Hoarders". I'd certainly think this would not be good for the community.
-Neighbors allow their dogs to run freely without leashes and poop everywhere without cleaning up. There are plenty of stations for curbing dogs, but the owners don't seem to bother. A real shame and a waste.
-Security is good at night, but if you file a noise complaint because you are trying to sleep, expect to have to get up, answer the door when they investigate. The security will confirm with you the complaint, then go check it out and offer to return with results. I wasn't big on this because all I wanted to do was sleep when some neighbors wanted to party till all hours. So, this is a plus for some and a minus for me.
-The rental office (in the back) is always packed and expect to wait anytime you need to speak to the staff. Rarely did I come in and get seen right away.
-A shared water bill really sucks when you see that everyone in their extended family lives in a 1 bedroom apartment next door to you. The entire unit splits the water bill. That sucks if you are like me and that you are rarely home, there's only you and your wife and when you do shower it's at a gym off the property. The water bills would get atrocious sometimes. There's no compromise on this, they refuse to change this policy.
-Parallel parking on the north side of the circle tends to get crowded on nights and weekends which makes for a tight fit. A rare few have the sense to yield to the oncoming traffic on the side that doesn't have the parallel parking. This situation sucks beyond sucky. They need to expand their parking and offer multiple entrances rather than the 2 on the east side of the complex. The reason I add the entrance as a problem is that they expanded their parking, but you have to drive all the way to the back of the complex, and around the buildings to the far north side of the complex. Then, to get back out, you have to reverse that order. The extended parking also floods from time to time during monsoon season. Not worth it anyway you shake it.
Now, the good things:
-Rent is inexpensive
-There community events are fun and mostly free
-The staff is super nice and very accommodating when they do get to you. Chelsea/Brittany (I believe that's her name, she's tall, young and a brunette), the assistant manager in the back office is a real gem. She is as pleasant as she is beautiful. Five star service from her every time.
-It's in walking distance of just about everything you can think of. I loved this community for that reason. Look at the location on a map and you'll notice all kinds of shopping, restaurants, gyms and businesses are super close.
-There is a bike trail that runs by the community that is a lot of fun to travel on a sunny day. Great times!
-Outside of the dog poop, the community is pretty clean
-They have 2 gyms for people to use. They can be a little dirty from time to time, but if you report it, they get it cleaned up right away. The handicap accessible gym is the size of a closet, but is rarely used. I'd sneak off into that one when the main gym was full.
I eventually moved out, because I picked the apartment in the back of the complex. So every time I came and went I hit 10 speed bumps. That became a literal pain in the butt. I found another apartment that was nicer that was further north for a bit more. Otherwise, I would've stayed there. Good apartments!
