  • Let me first say that we have purchased all of our cars from Bell Road Toyota for the last 25 years, through bad credit years and good credit years, and have always been treated like the loyal customers that we are. We needed a car for our son, and didn't want to spend more than $15K, so someone suggested a Kia. I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing a new Kia Soul for my son. We went there because of the advertised incentive - 5 years, no interest. I told the salesman, I was interested in the incentive, no money down, and a $200/mo payment. My son test drove the car and fell in love with it. The minute the salesman said the car doesn't come with a spare tire, I should've walked. (Who sells cars that do not come with a spare tire?) But, I figured with the 5 years/no interest, I could afford to buy him a spare tire. Next, we sit down with our salesman who asked me on a scale of 1-10, how would I rate my credit. I said around a 7 or 8. I know I have medical bills in collections, but to date, this fact has never impacted my ability to use my credit. The salesman took all the paperwork to what I can only assume was a finance manager. Minutes later, a man with a bad toupee and scowl on his face stomped up to us, and says in an accusatory manner, "I thought you said your credit score was an 800." Feeling humiliated, once again I should have gotten up and left. But no, I stayed for an entire night of abuse from bad toupee-scowley guy. I replied that I never said my credit score was 800, I said I was asked to rank my credit on a scale of 1-10, and indicated it's probably a 7 or an 8. "Well," he says, "You don't qualify for the 5 years/no interest", and throws a printout of my credit score on the table, like I'm some kind of criminal. I wasn't aware that this incentive was contingent upon my credit. Again, I should've gotten up and left. By the end of this humiliating experience, my payments jumped to $340 and I had to put $2,000 down. Bad toupee-scowley guy said I could give them $1,000 and I could write a check for the remainder and date the check for a month out, which I did. The next day they called and said I didn't fill out a form for them to hold the check, so my husband went to sign the form. The day after that, they called to say that my husband can't sign the form, so I went out there so sign it. The day after that, they called to say the check has to be dated the same day as the contract, so I went out there a third time to write a new check. I will NEVER, EVER purchase another car from Peoria KIA again. I've never been treated the way I was treated. I'd rather pay more for a car from Bell Road Toyota and be treated wtih grace, then spend half the price while being treated like street trash.
