  • 5/21/16 I just happened to see an ad for Root Candles in the Cleveland visitor's guide I had and decided we had the time to check it out. I'm so glad we did! The main store is decorated beautifully. There is an discount section upstairs. Be sure to bring a basket with you! I failed to do that and had to juggle a number of glass items on my way down. Then I sent my husband up to pick up a few more. The prices were between $2 - $5! I'll be giving candles as gifts for a while. :) There is a food area in the back that also had great deals. The saleswoman was super friendly and talked to us for quite a while. There are many samples to try, too. Most everything I looked at was made in Maine, but the price was right so we stocked up on some new salad dressings, jams, and sloppy joe sauce. We went to the outlet last but I recommend starting there. The prices there are really low and you may find what you're looking for there much cheaper than you would at the regular store. This was definitely a great find and if you're in the Cleveland area, Root is worth a stop!! 6/30/16 I realized at some point a couple of weeks after we'd gotten home that a votive holder I purchased that day didn't make it home with us. We searched high and low in the house and decided it must've gotten left at a hotel. I couldn't find the item in the Root catalog or on eBay so my husband called them for me. They sent him a photo to make sure it was the same one and in the time it took him to track me down, they had looked up our receipt from that day and discovered that we left the item at the store. It either never made it to a bag or we left it on the counter. We purchased one more so they shipped us two - at their expense. This is really phenomenal, above the norm customer service.
