It's a great location and the public areas of the hotel are very nice, but really, charging for Internet access is like charging for running water in the bathroom. $6.50 per bottle for Evian is silly and I think $33 + taxes and tips for an omelette for breakfast is just wrong. This is a premium hotel that operates like a budget airline.
Most of the grand areas that were open to the public when this place first opened are now closed off conference areas and the view of the lake doesn't exist from here any more.
When this hotel opened it was the biggest in the British Empire, had its own hospital and a team of staff just to polish silverware. It's grand days are over really and the rooms aren't anything special. The Library bar is very good and the barmen are world class, but the galleried lobby is the only real remnant of what once was possibly the greatest hotel in the world.
There are better hotels and better value to be found in Toronto.
