not the "purveyor of pub fare and drink" the sign indicates. more of a lounge frequented by Ryerson students. The jukebox is too loud booming bad musical choices - who really expects to hear Jay-Z in a "pub"? but at least the selection also includes Slayer so you do get both extremes. Staff is very friendly. Manager or owner made a point to introduce himself. The bartender was happy to discuss and sell us on various "seasonal" spirits. The single pool table is small but I guess its so you can still hit something after having a few of the aforementioned shots. Food was decent but we only had some chicken fingers and nachos. Even patrons can be friendly as my mate and I found ourselves in a "Who can play the lamest tune" contest with another group. Not a bad place but my favourite moment came when Diana Krall was on the box, I was in one of the comfy lounge chairs sipping on "maple crown". I guess I am all grown up. I will try again, maybe on a weekday evening.
