| - Dr Nwapa was the only child psychiatrist on my insurance plan, so we felt we HAD to start somewhere. The first appointment was made in November, for March 17! So, we waited. The day came for the visit, which was no where near our home, but made the trek. We waited over an hour in the gross waiting room, and then brought back to a very 80s dated office. For a child psychologist, there was NOTHING child related in that room! He finally enters the room after we had filled out a questionnaire, barely introduced himself, did not even look at my daughter in the eyes, looked at the paper, and very curtly said, "Yep. Your daughter obviously has ADHD. Here's a pamphlet to get her meds cheaper." When my daughter wanted to ask him a question about nothing related, he was rude and told her to wait. He barely made eye contact with me when I had related questions, and he stared out the window. I asked if there were any other medication options or ANY other options and he bluntly said, NO! He showed us to the door and said to come back in a month. I was so taken aback by the whole occurrence, I couldn't even say anything or stop him in his tracks.
He was RUDE, SHOWED NO INTEREST in his patient, and spoke to me CONDESCENDINGLY.
We NEVER went back!
THAT IS NOT TOUGH LOVE! That is a complete lack of compassion and human interaction and he needs to retire!
