Years ago, a girlfriend and I were in Vegas, and we decided to have dinner. First place we chose had a wait of an hour or so. Decided to try somewhere else. This comedy of hunger went on for about 90 minutes!! Keep in mind: years before smart phones. Capisce? So, yes! We should have just waited for the first one, I know!! Anyway, finally we stumbled upon a place called Bacchanal, or some variation, towards the back of Caesars Palace. And no! Not the recent Bacchanal Buffet. The restaurant I'm talking about closed years ago. It was a prix fixe 5 course dinner with a simple dinner show that included Antony and Cleopatra. Maybe it was Caesar. She was a bit of a trollop. Got around. Even had a massage while waiting for dinner. Just neck and shoulders, but still. Delightful!! I love Caesars for that!!
During another trip, a girlfriend and I came to stay at the newly opened Venetian, and it was a disaster!! Had to walk down 28 flights of stairs cuz elevator was out. Pool wasn't open to guests yet. And none of the restaurants in Venetian were open for business yet. So we had to walk across the street to Caesars to be taken care of well!! I love Caesars for that!!
I've also stayed here, and it's a spectacular place to stay. Bear in mind, it's one of the older hotels on the strip, but unlike some it doesn't slouch off and decline, or just rest on its laurels, they're still trying to set trends!! Trends like resort fees and paid parking are bad ideas tho!! Very bad!! Stupid greedy executives!!
Caesars is an elegant, well run hotel, with incredible shows, fabulous dining, and the always enjoyable Forum Shops to stroll around in. And the location is absolutely perfect. It's my favorite hotel on the strip, because for many years they've taken great care of me when other hotels couldn't. So, I thank them.
P.S. Seriously. Resort fees and paid parking: bad. Very, very bad. Evil even. Work of Beelzebub.
