We had a .20ยข o-ring put in our Mustang transmission where the dip stick tube meets the tranny. We bought & provided the o-ring. Hubbie was smart and bought the 1-year labor warranty for $20.
Sure enough, a few months later their "fix" failed, so we took it back in. We again provided another new o-ring (even an extra). Although we had an early morning appointment and at drop off were told it would be ready before closing that day, they kept the car overnight because another car took longer than expected. Therefore, tranny fluid dripped out overnight which meant when they finally fixed it the next day, they needed to add a quart. They called to inform me of that (I guess to also obtain my implied consent to pay for it). When we picked up the car they tried to charge $8 for the tranny fluid -- no go! They backed down quickly. They recommended if this "fix" also fails we take it to AAmco -- gladly! I guess they don't have much faith in their own tranny work.
PS: They evidently kept the extra o-ring we brought in... This warranty repair is only good until the original 1-year labor warranty expires in a few months -- a new 1-year warranty period doesn't begin after the repair. So if it also fails we will goto AAmco, and update this review.
UPDATE: Three months later it is leaking a tiny bit occasionally. It also now makes a loud percussive pop noise upon starting the car the first time on a given day. Once the leak gets worse, we will go to AAmco.
