| - After hearing many mixed reviews on this restaurant, I finally got to experience Baku. For starters, as expected, the restaurant was indeed stylish...a cozy mix of rustic and city-chic decor. Then came THE disappointment for the entire dining experience...the TINY table. As I often dine out with my husband, it's fairly normal that we get the smaller tables in most restaurants, but here at Baku, the table for two seemed a tad smaller than norm. It might not have bothered me much if we simply opted for simple entree plates. However, as recommended by the waiter, this was a restaurant that specialized in smaller plates (AKA tapas-style!). Since the menu did feature many tantalizing appetizers and tapas-style items, we proceeded ordering at least half a dozen plates, along with soup, dessert and drinks. Our table was completely overwhelmed...and honestly, it was an aggravating, near-claustrophobic foodie experience. The menu was delightful, with many unique items...and all the foods were delicious. I do want to add that some of their items, like the sushi that I ordered was way overpriced for what it was...but again, delicious. Also, the waiter was very good...an obvious pro with years of experience. Overall, I did like what Baku had to offer. If my dining experience was more comfortable (bigger table!), I might have even given this 5 stars.
