I will say that I'm very disappointed and a little disgusted in the business practices. While the food can be very good at times the way they run and do business is a little unprofessional in my opinion. A business only has one chance to mess up with me and Thai Basil of Charlotte used that chance. I called to confirm what is the cut off time to place lunch takeout orders were, and I was told that because the kitchen closes at 2:30 the last time to place an order would be 2:15/ 2:20. With that being said I placed a call at 2:05 and the phone rang out or picked up with no one saying anything on the line. I tried for the next 15 minutes to reach the restaurant and to no avail I "could not reach" the host that takes orders. With that being said I decided to take a walk to the restaurant while dialing the phone to the restaurant and watched the host ignore the phone that was ringing. I was giving a sob story of that there was something wrong with the phones and either of the lines picked up. I asked if I can still place my order since they had communication issues. While the host walked to the kitchen to see if I could she quickly came back to say she was sorry I could not. I did not believe her for one second and felt she was not being truthful about the entire situation. The proper thing to do would have been to take my order due to the establishment have issues with their phones. Not just stick to a lame excuse of phone system malfunction. Again you only have one chance to not do the right thing by me as a customer. So sad that I now have to be honest and Sharon my experience with my network about Basil in Charlotte NC.
