| - mmmmm, i was pretty unimpressed with prime. came here for dinner before clubbing at the omnia to celebrate a friend's birthday, so we were ready to eat (to pad all the alcohol..) the reservation was made about 4 weeks prior for table of 8 with a view of the bellagio fountains - no promises they said, but they'll make a note. i was pretty disappointed with our view - only 3 people could see the fountains at all, and with a very limited view. meh.
on to the food - we all got apps (foie gras for me) but others had oysters, steak tartare, salad, basically one of each from the appetizer section of the menu. there was basically silence as we ate our food - there was nothing to say. usually its a good sign because people are focused on their food and tasting it, but not with this group. we just didnt want to be rude... the apps werent very memorable. my foie gras wasnt complemented super well with items on the plate, and was more grainy than usual. bleh. on to the entrees..
since we were at a steakhouse, most people ordered steak. i got the short rib instead (cant eat much steak).. which ended up being a dry hunk of short rib that wasnt very tender, but quite salty! i was pretty disappointed. no imagination on the plating or accompaniments either. bleh. people seemed to at least enjoy their steaks - hope they werent overcooked.
overall...i didnt feel special at this restaurant. being a jean georges establishment, there was no refinement in the service or dishes that they served. everything was just 'all right.' their redeeming dishes were, with consensus from the entire group, the french fries and bread pudding. isnt that sad? the 2 bottles of wines we got were good, as well as the dessert wine, but they didnt produce those, did they. sigh.
i will not be returning here given the plethora of amazing dining options in vegas.
