| - First, this place is in the Asian Corners shopping center. the mall is a dump, the parking lot is a maze of potholes, and there is a general sketchiness about the area. scary movies could be filmed there.
now that that's out of the way, THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!! you mean you can get a large baguette (over a foot long), choice of meat, a slew of fresh daikon, cucumber, peppers, onion, and cilantro, and some hot sauce all for $3.50? surely this is can't be real life. they even have one that is $2.50. they offer a short baguette, but i didn't see one person order one. meat choices several variations on pork (bbq, grilled, steamed, etc), grilled chicken, and even sardines. even offer veggie option. drink selection is minimal, with can sodas, bottle water, and assorted asian drinks for purchase.
Note they are CASH ONLY. my only dilemma after finishing my wonderful sandwich was whether or not to buy another one immediately. ultimately i did not, and really do regret that decision. I haven't stopped thinking about going back since i left.
also, be sure to hit up the nearby asian markets for other fun filled adventures.
UPDATE - just came back from los angeles, where the asian population is huge and restaurants are everywhere, and i got banh mi from a couple different places. i'm happy to say that le's still comes out on top.
