| - People need to just stay away from this vet and look into other veterinarians in the area, I've been to a few like palm Glenn or Alta vista and they have been great, just go anywhere but here
I've been here several times and each and every time I go in here the receptionist is super rude and can't even bother to look up from her computer screen to acknowledge you. I could look past a shitty receptionist if they provided good care for my pet but they have failed 3 times there too. If you call in for something you get the same shitty tone and customer service from that lady.
I have a primary vet and only come here if my vet can't get me in, which was the case last week when I brought my dog in here to be seen because he had been throwing up for the past two weeks. Not only did she mis diagnose my dog (again) but I ended up paying about 400 dollars for meds and exams that he did not need and was told when I brought him to my primary vet that we're dealing with a very different issue than what was diagnosed here.
Additionally my vet pointed out that the prices we were paying were three times what most vets are charging for similar tests and to push me to buy all of these things is morally wrong. It would make sense, given the fact that the dr at vca northern told me that the company has just been bought out by mars, yes the candy company, and that they are only in it for the money. The ridiculous and unnecessary prices reflect that. It seems that the new corporate ownerships is pushing their vets to sell sell sell in an effort to bring in as much money as possible.
My dog never got better after taking him to vca (400 bucks spent for nothing) and when I called them back they told me he would need more exams and tests, and quoted me for what they wanted to do. I had similar things done at my vet that again, cost about 1/3rd what vca wanted to charge me.
In the past I had taken my dog here out of necessity several times for issues he was having, they mis-diagnosed these issues every single time blaming his issues on allergies and then when I brought him to his new vet, now his primary vet as I mentioned before, we found he actually had hypothyroidism and that allergies had nothing to do with the issues we were dealing with.
These are inadequate doctors here charging way more than anyone else does and I highly suggest you stay away from this place. I will never step foot in here again.
