| - As I ready myself to write this review, I'm noticing people complaining about this venue. Some for the customer service. Some for the teams playing (really??). Some for the prices. I've personally been coming to this stadium since I was a teenager (it will always be BOB), I'm a D-backs fan, and I don't have any qualms with the stadium.
Here's what I expect from a baseball stadium
1) Beer & other alcohol. Yes, it will be expensive. Don't go to a major league game and expect it to be easy on the wallet. Well guess what?? They have beer!!! $12.50 for a Coors Light tall can for those worried about money.
2) Food options. Chase offers food! Everything from pizza to sandwiches to normal game fare, fast food to sit down restaurants. The several options including chains such as Friday's and Subway.
There are also several restaurants nearby that are not in the stadium. My group ate prior at an adjacent restaurant (Coach's Corner) outside of the arena and it was quite good & affordable considering.
3) A decent field. The grass on the field was a little weak & patchy, but considering it's a desert & an indoor arena with retractable roof, this is acceptable. Actually, I prefer an indoor arena with shoddy grass, compared to human cooking in 100+ PHX days.
4) A little creativity to distinguish yourself. This field offers a pool. I'm sure you have to purchase tickets. But it's cool, right? Also, indoor stadium with retractable roof: perfect!
5) Nearby lodging. There's plenty of lodging nearby with a range of prices, which makes this nice if you're traveling for game day or just don't want to drive home afterwards.
6) Easy ingress and egress from the stadium. We got right in and right out through the gates. When we left, we walked up a couple of blocks and requested our uber ride. I imagine this is more congested during prime games and events that coincide at Talking Stick, but I didn't have issues.
