2 girlfriends and myself headed over to Regal Birkdale today to see the early afternoon showing Taken 2. This is the second time I have been to this theater, the first time many moons ago on a Saturday night where parking was a nightmare and I vowed to never go on date night ever again.
Birkdale Village itself has plenty of parking, both garage and street/lot. The spots closest to the theater seem to fill up quickly based on my two visits. We ate lunch down the street and then strolled over to the theater. The ticketing line moved fast and the employee was friendly. Ticket prices are the daytime Regal standard of $7.50. The lobby was clean and seemed to have every kind of movie-theater snack imaginable for standard theater prices. As we had just had lunch, we didn't get any popcorn, but the obnoxious crunching chair-kicking velociraptor behind me seemed to enjoy his very much. The seats have the fold-up arm rests and we sat on the row right behind the aisle that had a metal railing in front of it so we had a ridiculous amount of wonderful leg room and a great view of the screen. Comfy seats.
Sounds and picture on the movie were great. We didn't think the previews were ever going to end, but at least we know Marky Mark has a new movie coming.
The pit stop at the potty on the way out before my 40 minute drive home revealed a clean bathroom that had actual paper towels instead of those stupid hot air blowers. And paper towels that you use your hands to push a button and get as many feet of towel that is needed instead of the auto ones where you have to wave your arms in front of it like a jackhole hoping to get 3" of a paper product to wipe your paws on. I also washed my hands next to who I believe is the worlds oldest showgirl based on her sparkles, spangles, wrinkles and pancake makeup, so that was a super cool bonus.
