This is not gonna be pretty. They advertise a band every mile. I think I counted three. live bands. Only one was playing when we went by. RNR is pretty good at marketing and hype, but not real great about race organization. This run is a cluster. I submitted a realistic time (which I beat by 45 seconds). I passed thousands of people. Not an exaggeration. I am not sure how or why I passed so many people with higher corrals, lower corrals, and walkers six abreast. It's literally a jungle trying to work your way through people either assigned to the wrong corral or starting in a corral to which they were not assigned.
The course is awesome, as advertised -- lots of neon and lights. If you want an opportunity to drink all afternoon and then walk with a bunch of friends up the middle of the strip wearing an Elvis costume, wedding dress, or tutu with blinking lights, then this is your ticket. Sign up and enjoy. If you want to participate in a real running event, look for one. This one is just not safe for a real runner given the widely (and wildly) varying abilities and paces of participants.
