  • This review is strictly related to the Mandala Bay's Valet service and the Cabana area! (Ok and the wave pool, and Lazy River). So if you are looking for a hotel review - sorry can't really get into that unless I get a free night somehow there! :) Starting with Valet - accessing from the Blvd. is a little confusing! Signs tell you Valet/Registration, and ya feel you are going crazy. Once you finally get to that area - the valet folks have "Hotel Guests only" cones out in the area that says "Valet/ Hotel Regsistration" So it's a bit confusing if you are just trying to use regular valet type service. The gentleman I spoke with let me go ahead and stay in that area once I explained I was meeting up with hotel guests. Getting to the beach area from the valet zone - also a little confusing. Escalators are the easiest way to go, but if you have tiny tots in tow and strollers - you kinda have to meander til you hit the elevators. Then you get to the beach zone! You have to do a bit of meandering to get to the pool entrance, but tis fairly simple. Here's the rules - you MUST be a guest of the hotel in order to use the pools and show a room key proving that you ARE a guest. No questions about it. Hotel employees are very strict about this rule, and I even witnessed some non hotel guests be told they could not enter without a room key. OR - you have to privy to the guests using the cabanas. Going up to the pool entrance, I stated I was with a party in the cabanas, then was escorted to the Cabana area - where they provided me a key to gain entrance into the cabana zone. Once in - top notch service! You are allowed to bring floaties into the pool (so you can have a happy tot), and hotel will provide you with a couple of inflatable "boogie boards" Every 15 - 20 minutes or so, there is an attendant checking up on your needs. Drink refills, food, whatever you need - they are happy to accommodate! My tiny tot was happy as a clam the whole day playing in the water! (She's a water bug by nature.) Wave Pool/Beach area - it's crowded! Not gonna lie. I know this is the height of summer season - but this place was PACKED (almost worse than sardines)!! Now don't get me wrong service is still up there poolside, but you have to fight the crowds, and not getting bumped or knocked to the side a little by pushy folks. So if you have tiny tots in tow - well form your armadda! I do admit though, it's pretty cool to have a pool that generates its own little waves, to give you a "hint" of the ocean. Now with it being crowded, yeah I wasn't enjoying myself as much as I would have liked to - but I put that all aside. So tiny tot in tow, off to the Lazy River! Make sure your wee one has SOME floatation device on - and IS with an adult at all times. The current is pretty strong in there, so not to have the kids just go on their own. Entrance and Exit are the same so you do have to battle the crowds at once. It is a short little ride, but to the small adventurer with you - it's the world to them! So just keep that in mind as you go along. Like I said, anything hotel related - can't really review it here. So happy swimming! Use your sunscreen!
