This place gets 5 stars from me for very good memories going to eat here with several friends over the years. Two of whom have walked on.. We made this a once a week or at least once every two weeks visit. Tess and her mum are nice people. Tess knew us all and when we came in it was like seeing an old friend. Most times it was 4 of us but some times just 3. And she would make it a point to very kindly ask where was the missing friend
Its one of those small family run restaurants that always feel comfortable and welcome.
Its very popular with the blue rinse brigade Not a place your your going to see many younger hip hop guys or the younger crowd on the game. Not saying they don't go to enjoy good food at Golden Greek just not the type of restaurant that attracts very many of that group.
We all enjoyed the food at The Golden Greek
Start out with soup or salad. We all really enjoyed the salad iceberg lettuce, big tomatoes chunks, red onion slices, cucumbers, feta cheese, and topped with a house Greek salad dressing. You have your choice garlic bread or house made dinner rolls. Both are good; we always got the house made bread. We liked it so much we would order some extra to take home.
My usual order was Pasta el Greco with shrimp. It was a large portion of spaghetti cooked in olive oil topped with tomatoes, good sized shrimps, chopped tomatoes and sprinkled with feta cheese. This is so yummy and filling I couldn't always finish it. Which made for a good snack later the next day. if your craving carbohydrates Pasta el Greco is what your looking for. You can get it without any protein at all or your choice chicken or shrimp. My one friend would always order Chicken Souvlaki
Which consists of herb grilled chicken on skewers sat on top of rice surrounded by green beans tomatoes stew with chick peas.
I miss you The Golden Greek. Lots of good memories enjoying your delicious food with dear friends
