Having done plenty of research in preparation for a bachelor party in Montreal, this little gem stood out from the pack of speakeasy-type bars throughout town, with the small caveat that it might not be able to handle such a large group.
After splintering off into smaller groups later in the night, I'm forever grateful that we got a chance to experience this very impressive establishment. On the Thursday night that we checked it out, it could very well have handled all 15 of us and we had planned on returning with everyone, but ran out of time during our trip. The hidden entrance is very novel and easily overlooked, if not for the sign that my eager friend found up the stairs, while we stood in the lobby eyeing the wall.
The staff was very friendly and efficient, seating us immediately. There's no cocktail menu, so you simply tell the server what you enjoy and the bartender will make up a drink for you. I was very impressed with the sazerac that was whipped up for me, while my friends were bowled over by a mezcal that was recommended.
The vibe is very relaxed and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I highly recommend this great little joint!
