So our modem was ancient and our internet (but most importantly Netflix) were starting to lag. Aside from the fact that both my husband and I log in to our VPN at the office from home....I could not binge watch Law and Order:SVU. This was a problem. We called Cox and did some troubleshooting (I have background in IT so it was all the stuff we had already tried and then some). It was determined that the modem was the issue and to go to one of the Cox stores to replace it.
We strolled into this store because it was open on a Sunday. We didn't think to bring the old piece of crap with us. The store was empty and we approached one of the counters.
The 45 second exchange went something like this.
Husband: We need to get a new modem because ours is old and a piece of crap.
Clerk: May I have your phone number?
Husband: Sure, blah blah blah
Clerk: Can you verify your address?
Husband: Blah blah blah
Clerk: *Turns behind him and grabs a "Cisco" box. Has another clerk scan it - hands us the box*. Just bring back the old one to this store when you have a chance.
Husband: Ok...So we're all set?
Clerk: Yep. Thanks for coming by.
And now we have speedy internet and I can binge watch my shows (oh and work).
