| - Stopped in a little after 5 on a Friday night, and were seated pretty much immediately. Our server was incredibly friendly and happy to answer all of our numerous questions.
To drink we ordered the Jenny's Tea Cup, and Message in a Bottle, both rum based. The first is definitely more of a fruity drink (quite good), and the second mostly tastes like ginger soda with some rum (which honestly is great to me). It was cool in that it came with the dark rum in a little bottle separate to pour into the drink yourself (the message in the bottle). The dark rum lent the drink almost a maple-y aftertaste. Yum.
For main dishes we ordered the smoked jackfruit (vegetarian) tacos, which I would highly recommend- almost the texture of meat exactly! And the arroz con pollo, of which I tried the rice and it was really tasty. I felt that both dishes were a bit overpriced though, at $14 for two small tacos, and $20 something for the arroz con pollo.
They were out of the bread pudding for dessert (insert major disappointment) so we decided to try the tres leches. It was *okay* but I've had much, much better. The milk wasn't sweet enough, and the cake hadn't soaked through the whole way. The topping was too thick and didn't have much flavor.
3.5 overall because the jackfruit tacos were interesting, the rice was really good, and the service was friendly.
