Most of the times I've been into the taproom, it's been busy and quite packed. They have a couple of places to sit along the bar and a couple of high bar tables/chairs. If you love sour beers, this should definitely be your #1 stop in Madison. They have a selection of some unique beers to choose from. They will host special release parties for some of their beers. They post their special releases on their Facebook page. Please note that they limit the special release beers to patrons. A lot of them are 1 per person. A great way to share the sour love with more people! Those special release bottles come at a cost though. Some of their 375ml bottles are $30 each. And there's a 750ml available for $50. They do offer some to go bottles too. There's a separate menu for the to go options. They don't serve food in the taproom, but they do have a food cart outside for a bite to eat. This is a good place to grab a sandwich to eat alongside your cherry meerts. You need to try the astronaut juice. It's made with Tang and its perfect for summertime drinking. The colorful taps here make me smile!
One thing about the place is the weird cult following of patrons. There were a lot of people who had driven in to Madison to get their specialty bottles. It's almost as though sour beer is a new fad that people just have to have the latest version of sour beer to feel cool amongst their friends. I was in the middle of a few conversations and I almost felt that the guys around me were trying to outdo each other with their inside knowledge of the taproom, their offerings, and what's next on tap. There definitely was a level of pretentiousness with the patrons.
