| - Had the unfortunate experience of having my car window smashed in by some perp (I condemn you hooligans to an eternity of eating all the window shards you have created) while grocery shopping at a busy Asian market in Las Vegas. In broad daylight too! So that killed my plans afterward to give Fukuburger a third try, after two back to back disappointing tasting experiences.
Anyway, after basically being told Metro will not get involved, except take a report over the phone (which then generates an email report or snail mail 10+ days later) and that you are just doo doo out of luck with the deviant activities of criminals or mentally unstable denizens of the 702. I think I have stumbled onto part of the reason why crime is on the rise. Cops are not interested in doing any police work, unless it involves some bodily injuries or fatalities or much larger sum of cash. And the enterprising criminals know that as long as they are not physically hurting anyone, they are free to carry on with their criminal career. Almost sorta want to be a small time criminal as a side job, like being a part time Lyft driver.
Epiphany aside, I was still left with the annoying task of getting my car window repaired and getting a quote to determine if insurance should even be involved. I did a quick Internet search, filled out a quote request and 45 minutes later received a call back with a reasonable quote for the repair. So an appointment was made for the next morning, and the two man crew (Jose and his son, they are the main installer subcontractor of All Vegas Auto Glass) from Star Auto Glass arrived 30 minutes earlier than the agreed upon service window.
They got to work right away. Taking apart the parts of the car door that requires to be removed in order to perform the replacement of the auto glass. Fairly thorough job of vacuuming out all the glass shards, including the ones inside the door (to minimize the rattling sounds of glass shards left inside the door while driving.) which is not always part of the job. Within an hour, a new window is installed, tested to make sure it functions properly, and a final cleaning to remove any fingerprints and smudges completes a very efficient and skilled automatic window replacement.
Would I recommend the to your door (be it work or home or wherever) expert auto window repair and replacement service of Star Auto Glass? You bet!!!
Pro tip: Credit card accepted, but you will save even more paying cash.
Pro tip numero dos: Expect them to arrived on time, and don't be surprise if they are early. None of that Cox Cable 6 hour service window, and a call back that they are still running late bovine excrement.
