| - Yesterday, we took our daughter to Forever 21 so that she could use a couple of giftcards she recently received. I was completely shocked at how dirty and unorganized this particular store was. The displays were crammed with clothing, overstocked with certain sizes like extra-small and small--could hardly find a medium on any of the racks--even the leggings rack, which is literally labeled with each respective size, and yet, it was overstocked with small for every different size. The majority of clothing selection did not even look like items that Forever 21 generally carries. More to the point, it looked like maybe someone had stocked the place with second-hand clothing taken from donation boxes around town. The clothing was strewn on to racks and tables with little care, so it made the clothing look wrinkled or used.
Cleanliness--is definitely not a maintained standard for this particular Forever 21. The floor was filthy, carpeting severely stained, and the store just seemed cluttered.
The employees wore expressions that reflected the overall tired and rundown feel this store had. I am sure some of this disarray is partly due to employee lack of care, but that generally comes from not having a manager who enforces standards. Someone is not doing their job, and has allowed this particular Forever 21 to become this way.
On the plus side, the pricing was affordable and to the standard of the Forever 21 franchise. However, because of the way that clothing was handled and displayed, and the filthiness of the store, it deterred us from wanting to spend money there, because it made us question the quality of the clothing.
I would like to note that the last time I was in this particular store was 4-years ago, while on vacation. It was clean, organized, and had an overall professional feel, which is no longer the case today. I have also been fortunate enough to shop at Forever 21, in other countries, such as Singapore, and what I saw yesterday would never have been tolerated.
Needless to say, we will not be shopping in this particular Forever 21 again.
